Meet the Founder
Nancy Taneja, Counselling Psychologist
Founder, ‘HeartSpace’
“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” — Carl Rogers
Nancy Taneja is a counselling psychologist and the founder of HeartSpace, a space created to offer deep, meaningful, and compassionate mental health support.
At the core Heartspace is a simple belief — people are not problems to be solved or diagnoses to be labelled. Instead, we sit with you in your experience, offering presence, understanding, and a safe space to explore your emotions, your pain, and your growth at your own pace.
Our approach is rooted in client-centred therapy, where active listening, empathy, and a non-judgmental stance form the foundation of our work together. This means you are not just heard, but deeply understood — your emotions, patterns, and inner experiences are explored with care, respect, and collaboration.

We integrate Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an evidence-based approach grounded in attachment science. As humans, we are wired for connection and at heartspace we help individuals and couples identify patterns of disconnection, understand unmet emotional needs, and move toward building safer, more secure relationships.
Nancy is trained in EFT from ICEEFT (International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy) — widely regarded as the gold standard in couples counselling worldwide. She is also certified in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), allowing her to integrate structured, practical tools when helpful, especially for concerns like anxiety, overthinking, and emotional regulation.
Her work with adolescents, adults, and couples, supporting concerns such as anxiety, relationship challenges, emotional overwhelm, self-esteem, life transitions, and interpersonal difficulties. With years of experience in therapeutic practice, She has had the privilege of working with diverse individuals and families, each bringing their own unique stories and struggles.
Alongside professional training, her personal journey of being married and raising children has deeply shaped her understanding of relationships. Having experienced first hand the beauty, the demands, and the emotional complexities that come with holding a family together. This allows her to connect with her clients not just as a therapist, but as someone who understands the realities of everyday relational life with warmth and authenticity.
She is a Registered Member of the Counsellor Council of India (Membership No: ________), and a member of EFT India and ICEEFT(International Centre for excellence inemotionally focused therapy ). Why Choose HeartSpace
At HEARTSPACE, therapy is intentionally unhurried and thoughtfully held. Nancy integrates evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), alongside insight-oriented and reflective work tailored to each individual. This balanced approach allows clients to not only understand their experiences intellectually, but also process them emotionally in a way that leads to lasting change.
This is not surface-level or one-size-fits-all therapy. It is a considered, collaborative process designed for those who are ready to explore themselves more honestly, shift long-standing patterns, and move forward with greater clarity, resilience, and emotional ease.
If you’ve been carrying more than you show, Heartspace offers a space where you can feel understood, supported, and gently guided—at your own pace.
